July 4, 2017 …. “😳 Just Another Day …. first time in my life …. 😳 …. !””

My co-worker today asked what I was doing for July 4th. I said I’m doing nothing, as the reality show that is our current administration has me feeling very unpatriotic.  I was talking with my husband later and said this may be our last July 4th as we know it.  I hope like hell I’m wrong.

  1. There’s usually a big show on the 4th that most years I sing in. This year I realized that I just don’t have the heart to get up in front of a big crowd and TV cameras and sing about how great our country is. I just can’t. A couple of days ago our local delegate put flags in everybody’s front yard. I took ours down. I’m in no mood for celebration.

  2. What y’all are saying is exactly what they want which is to create so much confusion and despair that we get frustrated and give up. Remember that tRump is not the main character in this charade. He is merely the dupe of the sinister alt right. We have 2018 and 2020 elections coming up. We are still a long way from totalitarianism. Please celebrate today knowing that we are in the majority and tolerance, compassion, and equanimity will prevail. My county voted 68% Trump, my neighbors verbally abused me for my Hillary signs, but those flags are out in my yard today to let them all know that I will not shut up. Now get out there and be proud.

    • Good for you! My husband keeps saying things will get better, he also said Trump would never get elected. I hope our young people decide to get more involved in politics. I want a habitable planet for future generations.

  3. Certainly I understand how you feel but we cannot let this sad (I wanted to say pathetic!) person steal our America! Usually, we don’t do much on the 4th but this year we are going to have dinner on the beach and watch fireworks set off from the USS Lexington, a retired aircraft carrier that is now a museum. USA!!!!
