Believe Beauty review from Dollar General Store

Hello!  I’ve been MIA for awhile.  I started a new job recently, and have had a super busy Summer.

Believe Beauty by Dollar General is a great new line of cosmetics that is very affordable.  Nothing is over $5.  Jeffree Star-YouTube recently did a review.  He liked a number of the products, so I thought what the heck.  I bought the Eyebrow Styling gel in light brown, Volumin’ Eyes mascara in Intense Black, Brighten Up Color Correcting Concealer in light/medium, and two lip glosses.  I spent $21.50 for five products.

Jeffree really liked the foundation, as he said it’s full coverage.  I don’t really wear foundation, so I passed.  There are quite a few items to choose from. All the items I got except for one was only $4.  You get a lot of product and the quality is amazing.  The lip glosses are .15 fl ounce and made in the USA.   Lipgloss The glosses are very hydrating and have no flavor and stay on well. Juneberry is a dupe for NARS lip gloss in Orgasm that sells for $24 for .18 fl ounces.

Brighten Up Color Correcting Concealer this is a total dupe for Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector in light/medium. I use to use the Becca concealer, but it got to be too expensive at $32 for .16 ounces. Believe’s is $4 for .07 ounces.  A little goes a long way, but it does a nice job on my tired old eyes. This product is made in Poland.

Volumin’ Eyes Mascara in Intense Black was $4.50 and is made in Italy. This is a great mascara.  It goes on well and made my lashes appear more full.  One of the things I really liked is that it appeared that I had eyeliner on just by virtue of applying this mascara. Normally I don’t like when  that happens, but this worked out really well.

Last but not least is the Eyebrow Styling gel in light brown at $4. It’s made in Taiwan. OMG!  This stuff is flipping awesome!  My brows are super skimpy and well just look like crap.  I’m 60 and as I’ve gotten older they just keep getting worse. I go back and forth using various prestige brands. I’ve been using Anastasia Brow Wiz for a few years.   I’ve tried other mascara type brow products, but this by far the absolute best.  It filled my brows in nicely and stays put.  The light brown is a perfect taupe color.

Ulta & Target haul 2-3-17

Happy Saturday!  I made my weekly visit to Ulta for some new products. Unfortunately for me, they only had one of the things I was looking for.  Lucky for me, Target is in the same strip mall. I love to try new products, and share the results.  I’m also very thrifty, so nothing was over $10.

First up Maybelline Brow Precise Fiber Volumizer in Blonde. After reading some of the first reviews on Ulta, I was skeptical. The price is $9.99 USD, but I paid $8.04. My brows are non existent.  As I’ve gotten older, they have gotten thinner.  I wear glasses, so I usually just slap on some brow pencil and call it a day. This product works great! You have to make sure you wipe the tip off before applying.  I really like the color and it did indeed add volume.  Here is me with the product on one eye, and nothing on the other. My brows could probably look better, but my vision is really poor, and it’s hard to pluck them.

I color my hair myself, and have for several years. I usually do the roots only, but lately the color doesn’t last for very long. I’ve tried different root cover ups, but my with my hair color, I have a hard time finding a good match. Since I needed to spend another $5 to use my Ulta coupon, I decided on Toppik Hair Building Fibers in Light Brown for $7.95 USD, I paid $6.40USD. I have used Toppik in the past in medium blonde.  The light brown is perfect.  This is a travel size, but a great way to try out a color. My hair is fine, and when I straighten it, it looks pretty thin.  This helps to fill out sparse spots as well..

After I went to Ulta, Target was my next stop. Target has a great selection of e.l.f. products. I had read about this product e.l.f. Makeup Remover Pen from another beauty blogger. It was a whopping $3 USD.  It works really well. Since my eyelids are hooded, I am forever getting mascara on my upper lid.  This pen works great. I saw this same item on Amazon for $9.85. Target really has the best selection of e.l.f. products I’ve ever seen.

I had really hoped to get this next product at Ulta, but they are not carrying it yet. Aveeno Positively Radiant 60 second in-shower facial was $6.99 USD at Target. I had a coupon so I got it for $5.99 USD. I used it for the first time today. It was simply amazing! My skin was looking tired, and I don’t exfoliate as much as I should. I could tell a big difference after just one use. It’s a generous size at 5 ounces, and I only needed a small amount. This is my new favorite semi weekly cleanser.  You only need to use it twice a week. It contains soy and lemon peel extract. It has the 5 Factors of Radiance-tone, texture, dullness, blotchiness, and brown spots. My skin was so smooth!  I can’t wait to see how my skin looks in a few weeks.

Here’s me with my new brow product on, mini facial and Toppik!  Ready for a date with my hubby.  My dog Teddy was supervising.
