Yoga pants fail-part 2

Okay, I know I’ve written about this before, but I just had to get this off my chest.  We went to a science march yesterday. It was a beautiful Spring day here in Southeastern Wisconsin. Now I’m all about body positivity, being an overweight, middle aged woman myself, I’m well aware of what I look like.  Apparently, a lot of younger women have not gotten that memo.  You know the ones, wearing tight yoga pants, with every bump, bulge, cellulite, crevice, you name it out for the world to see. It’s not a good look. You can be curvy and wear yoga pants that look great.  But it’s the lumpy, bumpy shit that grosses me out.  Later after the march while having a cold beer, I overhead a young man telling some women he was sitting with how he hates seeing women wearing yoga pants.  It was pretty funny, as the women were trying to defend them.

Ever hear of Spanx?  I’m guessing not.

Ha ha! Plain Ol’ Vic is cracking me up!

Sitting here staring at my laptop and wondering what I can post. Admittedly I got numtin’ and I have no clue what to do now. * Perhaps I could entertain you with some dancing? Um…no. * Perhaps I could dazzle you with my martial arts prowess? Um…hell no. * Would you be amazed if I […]

Pajama Jeans-when you have just given up!

Happy Monday! So like many menopausal women, my body has changed. I lost almost 60 pounds seven years ago.  The weight has crept back on as the years have gone by.  I kept 40 pounds off for five years. It took a lot of work, but I felt I looked pretty good for my age.  Well the last two years, fifteen pounds have found their way back to my butt.

I’m a big Goodwill shopper, and bought several pairs of jeans last Summer. Not in my ideal size, but I couldn’t squeeze my fat butt into my size 14’s any longer. Wah! My intention was to make all of these jeans into shorts, as I certainly wasn’t going to be in this size for very long.

Let me tell you, losing weight and keeping it off when you are older is excruciating.  I’m back on my exercise size plan, but having bad feet makes it difficult.  I used our treadmill for years, which allowed me to keep the weight off.  Now I’m using a recumbent bike.  I’m going an hour a day now, so hopefully I’ll see some progress by the Summer.

The jeans from last Summer have gotten a bit tight, so off to Goodwill to go up yet another size. I thought I was done shopping in the plus size section for life. Nope! Feeling very sorry for myself, I came across some Pajama Jeans for $5.  I remember when they first came out, and I thought they were hideous.  OMG! They are so comfortable. I got boot cut in dark blue denim. I’m only planning on wearing them a short while, while I try to get a smaller ass.  They actually don’t look half bad.  I can wear jeans to work, and having the smaller ones fold over at the top is not a good look.  Lucky for me I’m tall.

I honestly never thought I would be this size again.  The funny thing is I see so many young women who are bigger than me wearing skinny jeans. I can’t imagine they would be comfortable. Even if I had the body, they won’t be in my closet any time soon. I’m a boot cut gal all the way.

While I don’t plan on wearing my pajama jeans to sleep in, at least they will help to hide my ever expanding ass!

Covergirl Outlast All-Day Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation review

Happy Thursday!  I haven’t posted in awhile as lots of personal stuff going on. I’ve had to scale back my weekly visits to Ulta, (which is killing me), but I did visit last week and got some great stuff.

Full disclosure, I’m not a big fan of full coverage foundation.  I have good skin for my age, and only spot conceal and use loose powder.  I was in Ulta and had a ton of coupons, along with their buy one get one 50% off sale going on, so it was time to try some new things.  CoverGirl Outlast All-Day Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation in Classic Ivory.  I rarely use liquid foundation, and am a lover of powder foundation when I use it. I have mature skin and a few spots that need covering. This product was $10.99 at Ulta, but I paid $5.50 with coupons and store specials. It’s one ounce and has an SPF of 20.

Here’s Ulta’s description- The Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 foundation longwear that keeps you all day flawless. Longwear designed to stay fabulous all day because it has concealer and primer built in. Smooth, even coverage. SPF 20.

I’m always skeptical of 3 in 1 products.  Rarely do they do as advertised. I was happily wrong on this foundation. The claim of a primer, concealer and foundation was spot on.  I didn’t have to use concealer under my eyes, and barely had to use concealer elsewhere.  I have dark circles, and this foundation totally covered them.  The coverage last all day. I wish the SPF was higher, like a 30, as I use a moisturizer with a 30 SPF daily.  This has great coverage but is not too thick.  I have good skin, so I don’t have a lot I need to cover up. Plus the price can’t be beat. I will be buying this again. The picture I have was at lunchtime, no need to touch up.

I’m 58 and don’t have too many wrinkles.  It was great not having to use concealer under my eyes, as it always seems to settle in the many lines I have. Typical car photo, and it’s April here in Southeastern Wisconsin and I’m still wearing a winter coat! Oh, and my selfie skills suck! I heard on the radio that if you were born after 1980, you are likely to take 25,000 selfies in your lifetime. Yikes! Do people really want to see you that much? Of course my teenage son is constantly on Snapchat.
