I heard that 1 billion people tuned in last night for the final season of Game of Thrones. I have not seen one entire episode. I tried watching it once, but it was too violent for me, although I did enjoy the gratuitous male nudity. 🙂
This was the only guy I noticed. Is it worth watching all the previous seasons?
Well hello every body! I’ve been MIA for months. I sit in front of a computer screen all day for my job, so my eyes are whacked out by the time I get home. My favorite store Ulta.com is having a 21 days of beauty sale currently going on.
Today, I decided to clean out my make up drawers, by that I mean my make up table that was piled high with any and everything make up. I tossed make up I’ve had for years. I currently have three monthly beauty box subscriptions, so I get over 15 new items every month. Why I was hanging on to eye shadow from the 1980’s is beyond me. I’m goofy that way. Man, did I ever toss a boatload of crap. Anywho, I found a freebie I had received from Ulta awhile back. It’s Ka Brow! Cream brow color . Full size is $24 for .1 ounce. I’ve been using eyebrow pencils for years. My eyebrows are blonde and non existent for the most part. I went yesterday to get two Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz pencils which were 50% off. I tried the Brow Wiz a few months back and thought it was my holy grail brow product. Not any more!

I look very ghost like if I don’t have color on my brows. I was just out running errands so my make up job isn’t too swift.

Happy Sunday! First let me say I’m a big bargain shopper. I have found a lot of great products at Dollar Tree. On my last visit, I bought various teeth whitening products and candy. If you have ever been to a dollar store, they have really fresh candy, just saying.
I purchased Natural White 5 Minute Tooth Whitening System for a whopping dollar at my local Dollar Tree. I just saw the same item for sale on Amazon for $5.50. It comes with a duplex mouth tray and a tube of whitening gel that is .75 ounces. When I first showed it to my husband he was convinced it must have contained lead or something since I got it from the dollar store. Not only did it not contain lead, but it’s made in the United States.
This stuff works great! I’ve got quite a few crowns so I wouldn’t spend the money to have a professional bleaching done at the dentist’s office. Plus my dentist charges $300!
I would have to say I’ve lightened my teeth several shades. It works fine even with me having all of these crowns. If you are expecting paper white teeth, it’s not going to happen, besides on what planet does that look natural????
One thing about items purchased from Dollar Tree, if you see something you like, buy them all. Well, no try it first, then go back and buy all of them. Seriously, they usually only have items like this once. I snatched up about five of them on my last trip.

Happy Easter! I have to laugh when I see studies for different skin care products that use really small groups. This eye cream by Philosophy was tested on a whopping 31 women. I was really excited to try this when I saw it advertised at Ulta.
It made some hefty promises, “after 12 days, 97% saw a creaseless eye area that looked ironed flat.” Um, hell to the no.
Next, “after one month crepiness reduced by 94%.” Double hell to the no! “After 1 week skin looks smoother and more youthful.” Liar lair pants on fire!
Here is more hype: “In 31 days hollowness reduced by 64%”. I wonder what kind of drugs these testers were using, and where can I get some.
This eye cream which is .5 ounces and cost $68USD is a complete and utter waste of money. I’ve been using it twice daily as directed for over a month and have not seen any improvement. I would have returned it, but when I bought it, I had returned some items so I spent $45 USD, which was $45 way too much for an eye cream that didn’t produce any results.
I’ve used Philosophy products in the past, and was happy with the results. Don’t waste your money on this.

Okay, I’m the first to admit that when I think of Gold Bond products, I think of body powder for sweaty dudes. As usual I had a $1.50 coupon for this product, so I thought what the heck. Gold Bond Neck & Chest Cream at Walmart for $9.97 USD. You get 2 ounces of product and I’ve been using it once a day for over three months. You are suppose to use it twice a day, but there isn’t an SPF, so I’m just using it at night.
Here’s the description of the product:
Gold Bond Ultimate Neck & Chest Firming Cream. There are 7 intensive moisturizes. It is body treatment cream. Visibly improves firmness & texture. The product is clinically tested, proven effective, fragrance free and dermatologist tested. Advanced hydration blend draws in moisture to improve texture.
Since it’s winter here in Southeast Wisconsin, I’m covered up most of the time. I happened to notice when I wore a scoop neck top recently that my neck and upper chest looked pretty darn good. The reason I noticed was because I could tell where I stopped putting the cream on my chest. OMG! What a difference! The chest area I missed doesn’t look so hot and the rest, wow! This stuff is amazing! My neck is less crepey as well.
I’ve tried so many neck creams over the years, and spent a ton of money in the process. This cream is $5 an ounce. I hope like heck Gold Bond never stops making this great product.
Given I’m almost 60, I would say this makes quite a difference. My skin is much smoother and spot free.

Happy New Year! Welcome from the frozen tundra that is the upper Midwest!
My reflections will be brief as 2017 was not the best year for me. I lost a job I had hoped to retire from, and had two knee surgeries on the same leg. I want nothing more than to put 2017 behind me. 2017 wasn’t all bad, we went on a fun vacation to New Orleans, and our child graduated from high school. My husband and child are happy and healthy, and that’s the best I can hope for.
I haven’t done as many product reviews this year because I have cut back on my spending. The products that were my favorites in 2017 were mostly make up, with some great hygiene products thrown in.
Let’s get started. Clairol Root Touch up $8 USD. This is such a great product. I use to spend so much money having my hair professionally colored. I would get partial highlights and walk out of the salon over $150 poorer (with a generous tip). My hair looked okay having it professionally done, but it wasn’t like anyone ever noticed or complimented me on my hair color. I wear my hair up 80% of the time, and I’m only coloring it every six weeks, just the touch up, I might do my whole head once a year.
My perfect shade!
Dove Dry Spray invisible 48 hr antiperspirant. $6 USD. I used a solid stick for years. This product is pricey but leaves no white marks on your clothing. The fact that’s its 48 hour is weird, but whatever.
No white residue!
Having had two surgeries this year, this Drybar Detox Dry shampoo came in very handy. It’s pricey at $23 USD, but so worth it.
Great scent!
Pantene Air Spray with no alcohol $5 USD. This is a great product, my hair is dry and being alcohol free makes this my go to hair spray. I don’t think I’ve ever paid full price as I’m a big coupon shopper.
Who doesn’t want whiter teeth? I found this Dazzling White whitening pen at Dollar Tree for $1 USD. I have a lot of crowns, so this works really well for me. I’ve seen these at WalMart for $5 USD. You can find some great beauty buys at the dollar store.
L’Oreal Age Perfect Eye Balm $20 USD. 2017 has taken a toll on my poor face. This helps great with under eye circles and wrinkles.
Touch’N Brow eyebrow shapers $1.79 USD at a beauty supply store in the inner city. Menopause and 2017 have not been kind to my face, between hair sprouting out of my nose and covering my face, I would be a mess without these puppies. Shaving your face is also a great exfoliant. I paid $5 USD at Sally Beauty for the same product.
Last but not least L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise mascara $10 USD. This has been a game changer for me. I wear glasses, and this mascara really makes your lashes stand out. I use blackest-brown. It’s easy to remove, and I haven’t paid full price for it yet. I have 6 tubes stashed for the next year or so.
