Imgn Dermatology-review

Hello!  Happy Thursday!  I hope everyone is doing well.  We are living in scary times.  Our state is currently in a shelter at home status. I’m trying to have a positive attitude, but it’s difficult at times. I actually went to the store today at 7 am to buy toilet paper. It’s seniors day on Tuesday and Thursday from 7 am to 8 am.  This was my 7th attempt in the last two weeks to get toilet paper. I already had enough for three weeks, but with people hoarding supplies, I just needed the comfort of knowing we had enough.

On to lighter things.  I read about Imgn Dermatology in a Woman’s World magazine last month.  Woman’s World is a weekly magazine that I buy at the grocery store.  It mostly contains the latest diet and many recipes.  I’ve been reading it for years, and have gotten some great beauty tips.

I’ve been using Imgn Instant Lifting Wrinkle Fighter for 30 days.  Here’s the description from the website:

It sells for $17.97 USD for 2.3 ounces.  It’s a lightly scented soothing cream. I’ve used about 1/3 of the jar over 30 days. I’ve used 1/2 of the 1 ounce bottle of the Instant Lifting Wrinkle Fighter that sells for $17.97 USD.
I’ve tried so many anti-aging products over the years. I can’t even fathom how much money I’ve spent.  These products actually work.  I was out in my yard with my dogs yesterday and took a selfie in full on sun. I’ve always taken good care of my skin, but I was really pleased with the results I’ve gotten.  I’m 61 and just wear concealer on my nose, no foundation, etc. My skin tone is more even and I have very few wrinkles.
I used each product twice a day. In the morning it goes under my sunscreen. Both products are light and quickly absorbed.

Mario Badescu Skin Care Seaweed Night Cream Review

Happy Sunday! I recently purchased Mario Badescu Seaweed Night Cream at Ulta.  I had a sample that I got a year ago, but forgot about due to well being a beauty hoarder.  I’ve been using this night cream for the last 10 days, and have seen a real difference in my skin. It is considered a prestige brand at Ulta, but at $22 USD for one ounce, it’s a bargain.

A non-greasy, oil-free night cream enriched with seaweed, elastin, collagen and hyaluronic acid to soften, hydrate and nourish the skin without clogging pores. It leaves the skin feeling soft and silky.   It also contains vitamins and minerals found in Bladderwrack Extract to nourish  dehydrated skin.  The result is smooth, dewy, younger looking skin overnight. This brand is cruelty free which I like. The scent is wonderful.  A little goes a long way. I have mature skin, but wake up with a plumper, line free face.

Olay Eyes Review

Happy Saturday!  Finding a good eye cream has always been a challenge for me. I have mature skin, (i.e. old) and have purchased so many eye creams over the years. I’ve tried prestige brands that didn’t really do anything. I hate spending a lot of money on something that ultimately doesn’t work.

I bought the Olay Eyes at Ulta awhile back.  I was using up a Philosophy eye cream that I started using in June.  Never really saw any results with that, but it was expensive, and I didn’t feel like taking it back.

I used the Olay Eyes for the first time last night.  When they say instant results, they were not kidding.  Here is what Ulta  has to say:

“Fight dark circles, wrinkles and puffy eyes in an instant with Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Perfecting Cream. This 3-in-1 Decircler, DeWrinkler & DePuffer instantly reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Supercharged with peptides and vitamins, it renews skin¿s surface over time and reduces puffiness by massaging onto skin. Formulated with Olay’s color-correcting technology, it acts as a touch of concealer that matches all skin tones. The powerful formula hydrates to smooth and brighten the eye area. Give your eyes a boost of beauty and moisture with Ultimate Eye Cream for wrinkles, puffy eyes, and dark circles.”

One of my biggest eye issues besides under eye circles is wrinkled eyelids. I’m 57 and gravity has taken its toll on my eyelids. I had a Botox eyelift a few years ago, but it only last for three months and cost $600. I wear glasses, so that hides a lot.

I used the Olay Eyes for the first time last night. When I woke up this morning, my eyelid wrinkles were reduced.  I had to do a double take. I’ve never tried any eye cream that had instant results like this.  To say I was thrilled would be an understatement. It retails for $29.99 at Ulta. I had  coupons, so I paid $20 for a .4 ounce jar.  You use very little. I can’t wait to see the long-term results.

I give this a 10/10.

Cover Your Gray-Fill-In Powder

I was looking for a quick gray cover up as my husband and I were headed for a festival.  I have blonde hair with a decent amount of silver.  I picked this up on a recent trip to Ulta.  I have a similar product by Joan Rivers called Great Hair Day. I had a 20% off coupon that expired today.  This product was $11.99, and I paid $9.59. I purchased light brown/blonde.

The description says this instantly fills in thinning areas, and it does. It contains Procapil which targets the main causes of alopecia: poor scalp micro-circulation, follicle ageing and follicle atrophy caused by dihydrotestosterone.

This is a brush on powder that looks like eye shadow, and includes a brush. You dab it on your gray roots. It works fairly well. It’s great for any areas that are thinning. It does make your hair feel a bit dry, and it stays on well.

The photo is taken outdoors so you can see how well it covers.

I have a funky hairline, and this helps to fill it in.  I would definitely purchase it again.

2015-My Favorites Make up Round Up

Hello! And welcome to my highlights for 2015.  I’m an admitted make up junkie.  I love trying new products and sharing my results with the world.  A little about me, I’m a middle aged accountant who loves all things make up.  I’ve been wearing make up for over 40 years.  My mom was the neighborhood Avon lady, so I learned about skin care at a young age. I believe in aging well.  I’m not trying to look like I’m twenty, but I do want to look good for my age. So without further ado, here are my top make up and skin care finds for 2015.  They are not in any particular order, and I have reviewed some on previous blog posts.

Women’s Rogaine 5% foam-If you are losing your hair, this is the product for you.  I’ve been using Rogaine for fifteen years and it really works. It does make your hair dry, so extra moisturizing is a must.  $30 for a two month supply. http://www.rogaine.com/product/women%E2%80%99s+rogaine-+foam+2-month+supply+auto+delivery+.do?sortby=ourPicks#.VoGuQPkrLrc

Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E Skin Therapy oil $10 at https://www.palmers.com/en/cocoa-butter-formula/55-skin-therapy-oil-face.html  Has all the great ingredients you look for, but not the price.  I use four drops on my face every night.  I’ve been using it for months and have seen a great improvement in my skin.  Lines softened, smoother texture, more money in my pocket, what’s not to love?

Estee Lauder Advanced Time Zone Age Reversing Line/Wrinkle eye cream-$9 for a deluxe sample on EBay.  I am so digging this eye cream.  I’ve been using it for two months, and have seen a definite decrease in the lines under my eyes. I’ll be buying a full size soon.

OMG! Where have Frownies been all my life???  https://www.frownies.com/  These babies have been around for over a hundred years! They are about as low tech for wrinkle reduction as one could ever imagine.  They are basically brown kraft tape with a special adhesive that you get wet and put on your wrinkles. I found them at Bed Bath and Beyond for $16.  A package will last you 6-8 weeks. They totally work, and I love them.  No Botox for me!

Wet N Wild Fergie Center Stage Collection Rose Champagne Glow highlighter- $10 http://www.amazon.com/Wet-Wild-Centerstage-Collection-A045/dp/B00AXYFKZI/ref=sr_1_3?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1451340660&sr=1-3&keywords=wet+n+wild+centerstage+collection  You can’t find this in stores anymore, but it’s flipping awesome! I bought mine at Walgreens earlier this year.  It’s baked and has a pale rose glow, great for my 56 year old face! Not too shimmery, just right and very natural looking.

YBBB Brow Power Skinny Pencil in Universal Transforming Taupe by IT Cosmetics. $24 at Ulta.  I discovered IT cosmetics late in the year, and I really like all of the products I’ve tried.  This ultra-thin eye pencil is no exception.  My brows are blonde and this pencil really makes them pop.  It also has a spooly brush to finish off your look. The color stays on until you take it off. No crazy brows for me, I’m over 50, and just want a natural look.   http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod5770243

IT Your Skin but Better CC + Airbrush Perfecting Powder SPF 50- $35 at Ulta.  This is a game changer for me. I just throw on some 30 SPF moisturizer and buff this stuff on, and I’m out the door.  It has buildable coverage, but does look airbrushed.  I love the fact that it has an SPF of 50. Always a plus. http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod12251077

Maybelline Master Prime By Face Studio Primer SPF 30 in Blur & Illuminate $8 at Bed, Bath and Beyond.  My local BBB recently started carrying cosmetics.  I have to say, they have quite the selection, and awesome prices. BBB always has 20% off coupons. This is a great rose colored primer.  I mix it with any liquid foundation I might be using and it really blurs imperfections out, and adds a nice glow.

elf High Definition Under eye Setting Powder- $3 at Target. This is by far the best discovery for me for 2015. http://www.target.com/p/e-l-f-high-definition-undereye-setting-powder/-/A-14795896#prodSlot=medium_1_1&term=ELF+high+definition+undereye  Where can you find any kick ass product for $3??? The brush that comes with it is junk, but the powder is flipping wonderful.  It’s a white powder that you brush on after you put your concealer on.  Lines are decreased, and it lasts all day.

Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector-$29 at Ulta http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod11881009  Another under eye cover up game changer.  I got a BECCA gift set at Ulta to try out.  This was by far my favorite item.  It covers well, and a little goes a long way.

I hope you enjoyed my year in review.  Thanks for stopping by, and Happy New Year!

Update-e.l.f. High Definition Undereye Setting Powder

ELF Undereye Setting Powder Packging

Update-I used a better brush today, and the results are amazing!  The lines are blurred and not cakey at all.   I’ve had this on since 7 am, it’s now noon, and my under eye area looks great!  Never under estimate the power of a good brush!

Whose says $3.00 won’t get you anything these days?  I just bought this powder yesterday at http://www.target.com/p/e-l-f-high-definition-undereye-setting-powder/-/A-14795896#prodSlot=medium_1_4&term=elf+under+eye+powder, and it’s awesome.  It works great to set your concealer.  I just started using Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector along with Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-aging concealer by IT, (which I purchased from http://www.ulta.com) and this e.l.f. setting powder is a nice finishing touch.  It’s a finely milled whitish powder that blends well. I have some serious under eye line action going on, and this helps to blur everything out.  While you can still see my lines, my dark circles are gone, and I can live with that!

The brush that comes with it is a joke, but for $3 bucks, who cares! Just use a small fluffy brush to apply. Now it doesn’t completely hide my lines, I have too many! Plus I wear glasses so that helps to hide them as well.  Now if I could just blur out all the other wrinkles on my face, oh wait, I really don’t have too many. That my friends is from using a daily sunscreen for the last 30 years. Sure, you can get procedures done to help look younger, but I would rather have more money in my pocket.

IT Cosmetics Review-CC Cream and company

I just tried IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream and Bye Bye Pores loose powder recently.  I stopped at my local Ulta to try it out. I have to say, I was very impressed. I went in with no foundation on, and looked great afterwards. I was hooked. The line is higher end for me, but I love how it makes my skin look and feel.  Plus Ulta has a gift with purchase going on right now. I got a travel size Brow Power, Bye Bye Under Eye concealer and Hello Lashes in black.

I already had tried the Brow Power from a recent Ipsy package, and loved it.

The CC+ cream has an SPF of 50 which is cool, but the coverage is what I really liked. It’s pricey at $38 for 1.08 ounces, but I have found a little goes a long way. It wears like iron and I just had to powder my nose after having it on for 10 hours. I have Light on.  I also bought the Bye Bye Pores loose powder in translucent. It’s $24 for .23 ounces which is high, but again, you don’t have to use a lot.

The real surprise with the free gift was the Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer in Neutral Medium.  I thought it would be too dark for me, but it’s perfect.  It is a bit thick, but once you warm it up on your hand it blends very nicely. It lasts all day, and completely covers my under eye circles. The Hello Lashes 5 in 1 mascara in black was just ok. I’ve used better. The line is cruelty free also.  I think I may have found my holy grail of foundation and concealer. The photo of me is in my car, I like to get photos in natural light. The gal at Ulta didn’t even put any moisturizer on my face first, what a difference.

All in all, I give IT Cosmetics a big thumbs up.

NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm-Review

Let me start off by saying I’m a huge tinted lip balm fan.  I usually wear lipstick, but sometimes I just want the ease of swiping on some lip balm. I found this NYC Glossy Lip Balm in Chocolate Apple at my local Dollar Tree. I loved it.  I went back a few days later and bought all they had, which was twenty tubes. I do believe I have enough tinted lip balm to last me for the next 10 years. I’m sure I’ll be giving some away.

It is really creamy and I love the color.  Here is my high school graduation photo taken in 1976, and a current photo. As you get older your lips naturally get thinner. I’ve been wearing something, be it lip gloss, balm, lipstick or whatever on my lips for 44 years.  My mom was an Avon lady, so I started wearing lip gloss when I was 12. The point I’m trying to make is, your lips don’t have to get thinner as you age. I have some sort of moisturizer on my lips 24/7, and as a result of that, my lips have remained the same. Oh the NYC is usually $3, and I paid $1 each.  Yeah!

While I’m glad my lips have stayed the same size, I can’t say the same for my nose.  Must be from having allergies and always having a runny nose. Oh well, I guess there could be worse things. At least I have all of my original teeth! Ha!

And yes, I was trying to rock the Farrah Fawcett hairstyle that most girls had in 1976, that was as close as I could get with my naturally curly hair. Fresh from the salon for that one, never looked like that again.

Another wonderful use for Argan oil!

Argan oil face_skin 3-9-15I used a few drops on my face right after I showered.   After about ten minutes, I put on my 30 SPF moisturizer as usual.  Then my liquid foundation. OMG!  My skin looked amazing.  I think the argan oil works better than a primer.  Every time I went to the bathroom today, (which is a lot because I have a bladder the size of a walnut) I couldn’t get over how good my skin looked.  My skin looked nice and dewy up until I took my make up off a little while ago.  I put my foundation on at 7 am, and took it off at 8 pm.  I also picked up some Almay stick concealer at the dollar store.  I don’t normally use stick concealer because it’s too heavy. Guess what? This stuff is great!  It worked really well under my eyes and around my nose.  It especially worked on the dent in my forehead.  Score one for Stacy!

Happy Monday!
