Happy Saturday! I can’t believe its August already! Where did the summer go? I’ll tell you where it went for me. Laid up. Yep! I hurt my left knee while exercising May 1st. I have a high school reunion coming up that I was trying to get in back in shape for. I love wearing shorts in the summer, but it’s been capris for me all summer. Between wearing a leg brace or leg support, I’m covering up as much as I can.
So I’m exercising on my stationary recumbent bike, at the lowest tension mind you. My exercise of choice prior to the recumbent bike was a treadmill. I have foot issues, so I bought a recumbent bike about six months ago. Now one would think this would be about as less a stressful exercise as you could get. Well not for me! I had worked up to an hour a day on my bike. I’m trying to lose 30 pounds that found its way back to my body. I was down about five pounds when I heard a snap during a bike session. Oh crap! Turns out I tore a ligament in my knee and have arthritis. I got a cortisone shot, but it didn’t work. I had knee surgery last week to remove said loose body and repair a torn meniscus. The surgery went well.
Our summers here in Southeastern Wisconsin are short. One of our favorite things to do in summer is attend street festivals. Before I had my surgery I would limp around as best I could. Beer helps. Having your mobility limited is no fun. It sucks major balls! I haven’t been able to exercise since May. I miss it actually.
A couple we frequently attend these festivals with offered to wheel me around in a wheelchair. I politely declined. I’m always amazed when I see someone on crutches at a festival. Good for you I say.
We’re travelling to New Orleans with this couple in October. I know there will be a ton of walking involved, and hope like heck I’ll be back to normal by then.
Never take your mobility for granted. I live in a two story house, and our bedroom is on the second floor. It’s been a challenge going up and down the stairs. I’m determined to get back to where I was before.
My Summer mani is taking my mind off my bum knee.

For the past few years I’ve posted July 4th nail art. This year is different. While I didn’t intentionally paint my nails these colors for July 4th, this is how I feel. The blue tips are for me being disgusted with what is happening in the United States, and I’m blue. The flat pink is for Pepto Bismol, which is an antacid reliever, as I feel sick to my stomach. I wanted to celebrate independence day, but with the way things are going in the United States, I’m not sure how much longer we will be independent.
We have a juvenile numb nuts for president who is clearly mentally unstable. If he doesn’t like what is said about him in the media (which is a lot) he shouts fake news! His die hard followers believe whatever he spews forth. I really want to believe that all of his supporters can’t be that stupid, but one really has to wonder. Wake the f*&k up my fellows Americans, before this jackass takes us any farther down the rabbit hole.
Happy Saturday! I did a post on this nail stamping kit recently, but I bought another one, and just had to share. I bought this one at Ulta for $12, (I had a coupon, it’s normally $15). Well, it seems Ulta doesn’t carry these anymore. Caption Art Screens Nail Stamping this is the website that has kits that contain 24 designs for $30. I’m so glad I got them when I did.
I put this design on last Saturday, and touched up the tips twice. I used drugstore polish, and Julep Oxygen Nail treatment as a base coat.
If you want to try something fun with your nails, I highly recommend this stamping kit. Super easy to use, and lots of fun designs.
Here are the different polishes I used. The blue is Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel in Cyantific Method, two coats, and Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro in Black Satin. Also my favorite top coat by Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.
I just love how this looks, and I get lots of compliments. I can’t wait to try the other 22 designs from my kits.

Happy Saturday! OMG! I love this new nail stamping kit I picked up from Ulta. Caption Art Screens Nail Stamping Kit I picked up Party Squad for $14.99. It has 12 different designs and everything you need to stamp away. I had bought a Essence Nail stamping kit a while back, and it was total junk.
This kit is crazy cool and super easy to use. This is only the second time I’ve tried nail stamping, but I’ll be doing this more often for sure. Everything in the kit seems to be high quality. I used a lint roller to clean up between stamps. One thing to remember with stamping is you have to clean the stamper, plate and swiper card between each finger.
I used the two Revlon Top Speed colors in Hazy and Fire.

Hello! I found this YouTube mani last year and did a twist on it. I used fuchsia polish as a base with white and yellow for accents. I have a dotting tool kit I bought at Sally Beauty last year Cina 5 Piece Dotting tool set for $10. I’ve been having lots of fun doing my own nail art. It definitely gets better the more you do it. I did it late last night. It’s hard for me to have plain nails anymore.
Here is the blue flower mani from the video. It’s easy to do and looks really pretty.
