Please help support this author’s cause to rescue dogs from high kill shelters. We have had our two rescues for over nine years. They are the most loving, sweetest dogs ever. Please consider adopting instead of shopping for your next pet.
I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has purchased, read, and taken the time to review one of my books. All profits from my books go to help get dogs like Marbles, Maria, Hancock, Nelson, Emma, Spot, Coco, Eva, Diana, Sergio, Wilbur, Waffle, siblings Lady Caine & Queen Ariana (see photos below) out of kill shelters. Bonnie from Queen of the Girl Geeks posted about her first concert. I was a huge Duran Duran fan back in the 1980’s. Girls on Film to me epitomized the 1980’s. Plus I had a huge crush John Taylor, (who didn’t back then. ) Enjoy!
I stopped at my son’s job to get my car checked out. I was talking to a woman at the service desk, and told her Jordan was my son. She proceeded to compliment me on how focused he is and polite, etc, Then she said “oh,which christian school does he go too?” Um, me, no he goes to a public school. It seemed like she didn’t believe me, and asked me again where he went to school. Like she couldn’t believe our son could be those things going to a public school. No lady, it’s called being a good parent and having a smart kid.
I wanted to tell her I’m an atheist, but I was afraid her head might explode!

Happy Sunday! I usually go to Ulta every week. Lately I’ve been watching my spending, so I gave up my weekly visits. I thought for sure I might croak, but luckily for me I didn’t.
As I was doing my Sunday paper coupon clipping, I came across some Almay coupons I had that were expiring today. I use to use Almay products a lot, but it seems as though the line has dwindled in the past few years. They have a lip color I really like, and had stocked up on awhile ago. Well these lip colors were on clearance, and I got them for a song. I think they use to cost about $8, I ended up paying $.49 each with the $3 off coupons I had. I have on Smart Shade Butter in Red Medium on the left and Nude Medium on the right. It’s a very light feel and very moisturizing. And at less than 50 cents each, I’m not complaining.
First off let me say, my selfie skills suck. I only have on eye make up, and concealer. I’m not the best at contouring, but I did really like this palette. It has detailed instructions on the back for best product placement. The blush is a very pretty pale coral color, which looks nice on my pasty white skin. I paid $8 for almost $30 worth of make up. Yeah!
Okay, I know I’ve written about this before, but I just had to get this off my chest. We went to a science march yesterday. It was a beautiful Spring day here in Southeastern Wisconsin. Now I’m all about body positivity, being an overweight, middle aged woman myself, I’m well aware of what I look like. Apparently, a lot of younger women have not gotten that memo. You know the ones, wearing tight yoga pants, with every bump, bulge, cellulite, crevice, you name it out for the world to see. It’s not a good look. You can be curvy and wear yoga pants that look great. But it’s the lumpy, bumpy shit that grosses me out. Later after the march while having a cold beer, I overhead a young man telling some women he was sitting with how he hates seeing women wearing yoga pants. It was pretty funny, as the women were trying to defend them.
Sitting here staring at my laptop and wondering what I can post. Admittedly I got numtin’ and I have no clue what to do now. * Perhaps I could entertain you with some dancing? Um…no. * Perhaps I could dazzle you with my martial arts prowess? Um…hell no. * Would you be amazed if I […]
Happy Monday! So like many menopausal women, my body has changed. I lost almost 60 pounds seven years ago. The weight has crept back on as the years have gone by. I kept 40 pounds off for five years. It took a lot of work, but I felt I looked pretty good for my age. Well the last two years, fifteen pounds have found their way back to my butt.
I’m a big Goodwill shopper, and bought several pairs of jeans last Summer. Not in my ideal size, but I couldn’t squeeze my fat butt into my size 14’s any longer. Wah! My intention was to make all of these jeans into shorts, as I certainly wasn’t going to be in this size for very long.
Let me tell you, losing weight and keeping it off when you are older is excruciating. I’m back on my exercise size plan, but having bad feet makes it difficult. I used our treadmill for years, which allowed me to keep the weight off. Now I’m using a recumbent bike. I’m going an hour a day now, so hopefully I’ll see some progress by the Summer.
The jeans from last Summer have gotten a bit tight, so off to Goodwill to go up yet another size. I thought I was done shopping in the plus size section for life. Nope! Feeling very sorry for myself, I came across some Pajama Jeans for $5. I remember when they first came out, and I thought they were hideous. OMG! They are so comfortable. I got boot cut in dark blue denim. I’m only planning on wearing them a short while, while I try to get a smaller ass. They actually don’t look half bad. I can wear jeans to work, and having the smaller ones fold over at the top is not a good look. Lucky for me I’m tall.
I honestly never thought I would be this size again. The funny thing is I see so many young women who are bigger than me wearing skinny jeans. I can’t imagine they would be comfortable. Even if I had the body, they won’t be in my closet any time soon. I’m a boot cut gal all the way.
While I don’t plan on wearing my pajama jeans to sleep in, at least they will help to hide my ever expanding ass!
