On of the cats we rescued was an older male who had been forced to live outside desperately in a bad area for little cats, he had no front claws, and a broken front tooth, but he was a fighter. No one would take him because he distrusted everyone. I sat down and he launched himself to me. At the time he wouldn’t let me put my arms around him, but he also was happy and purred at a high roar in my lap. We took him home for about four or five years, and as his health failed we did what we could. When they wanted to make his last year miserable by having us fight him daily with IV’s and shots and pills, I said no, let him be happy until he either accepts or dies. I wouldn’t have him tied down nor traumatised. When he was ready to give up, he let us know. I held him in my arms while Ron stayed outside crying in the car. It was so hard yet the right thing to do. I am so happy he was in our life and the gifts he gave us, and I cry writing this at how much I miss him and loved him. Hugs
Well said my Lady, well said. I also believe you can tell the truth about a person in how they treat those not able to stand up for themselves against them. Basicly it is said, how you treat the least of these you shall be known. Or as I did to those who served me, so I show myself. Hugs
So very true.
Oh and by a year after he came to live with us he always sat at my desk when I was there or in my lap. He was the first of our cats to do so and got me use to it for the rest we adopted. Hugs

Bless your heart for making that cat’s life better. You truly know who a person is by how they treat animals.
