Hope for Everywhere Concealer by Philosphy-Review

Happy Saturday!  I purchased Philosophy Hope for Everywhere Concealer back in July at Ulta. I recently had a 20% off my entire purchase at Ulta, so I picked some up.  I paid $19.86.  The color I have is 4.5, which isn’t on the website, but was available in the store. I paid $26 back in July, and usually don’t spend this much on concealer.  It works well and stays on all day.  I have dark circles and this covers them well. My under eye lines do seem to be decreased with this concealer.

I looked on Ebay for giggles and found this concealer for a whopping $7.50.  Same exact concealer as I bought at Ulta for way less.  I purchase the majority of my perfume on Ebay for super cheap too. Winner winner chicken dinner!

Laura Geller Baked Blush N Brighten Dupe

Happy Sunday! Being a snowy day today, I went shopping. I had to make my second Ulta trip this week because I needed to pick up something for my co-worker. Months ago I got a Laura Gellar Baked Blush N Brighten in Tropic Hues from Ipsy.  I really like the color and was contemplating buying a full size which is $28.  I have a 20% off coupon for my entire purchase that I’m holding out buying anything until I have a ton of stuff to buy. Since I’m a platinum rewards member at Ulta, my 20% off coupon works for prestige brands.  Anywho, I was looking at some clearance items and found the almost exact color by Palladio. I’m guessing Ulta won’t be carrying this line any longer since everything was on clearance.  I do see they carry this at Sally Beauty Palladio Herbal Baked Blush in Blushin’ for $6.99.  I paid $1.79 at Ulta.  I was able to compare the two colors at the store.

Holy cow!  They are almost identical. The swatch looks a wee bit different, but they look the same on.

Caption Art Screens-Nail Stamping Kit by Young Nails

Happy Saturday!  OMG!  I love this new nail stamping kit I picked up from Ulta. Caption Art Screens Nail Stamping Kit  I picked up Party Squad for $14.99.  It has  12 different designs and everything you need to stamp away.  I had bought a Essence Nail stamping kit a while back, and it was total junk.

This kit is crazy cool and super easy to use. This is only the second time I’ve tried nail stamping, but I’ll be doing this more often for sure. Everything in the kit seems to be high quality.   I used a lint roller to clean up between stamps.  One thing to remember with stamping is you have to clean the stamper, plate and swiper card between each finger.

I used the two Revlon Top Speed colors in Hazy and Fire.

Julep Maven Event-Ulta

Happy Saturday!  I recently signed up to become a Julep Maven.  As a result I got invited to a Julep event at Ulta. I’ve only recently started using Julep products, mostly nail polish, which is awesome!

Today I got to try some make up.  Found my new favorite lip balm. Julep It’s Balm in Vintage Mauve for $20 USD.  I also got a nail treatment which I really like. Julep Take a Breather Oxygen Nail Treatment in Sheer Ivory for $18 USD.  I wouldn’t normally spend that much on lip balm or a nail treatment, but I’m really digging Julep products right now, so it was totally worth it.  Plus I got two free gifts, a deluxe size of  It’s Whipped Matte Lip Mousse in Bisou, and deluxe sample of Length Matters Mascara along with a cute make up bag.

I got a travel duo Love your bare face cleansing oil and Konjac sponge set for $19 USD.  Being a Ulta rewards member, I got triple points on my purchases.

Thanks for stopping by.

Ulta Holiday Catalog

Happy Saturday!  Growing up in the 1960’s, getting the Sears & Roebuck catalog was a big deal.  We would spend hours pouring over the toy section. Mom and Dad would let us pick out what we wanted Santa to bring us.

Well, I just got the 2016 Ulta holiday catalog yesterday. OMG!  I actually looked at it twice last night.  There are so many holiday kits, I was going crazy!  For the past several years, I’ve asked for an Ulta gift card from the hubby.  That’s it.  Maybe some candy, and a Ulta card loaded with lots of cash.

Judging by what I was seeing, I’ll be going in way before Christmas.  It’s such a great way to try higher end cosmetics without paying a ton of money.  Check it out Ulta Holiday Gifts

Olay Eyes Review

Happy Saturday!  Finding a good eye cream has always been a challenge for me. I have mature skin, (i.e. old) and have purchased so many eye creams over the years. I’ve tried prestige brands that didn’t really do anything. I hate spending a lot of money on something that ultimately doesn’t work.

I bought the Olay Eyes at Ulta awhile back.  I was using up a Philosophy eye cream that I started using in June.  Never really saw any results with that, but it was expensive, and I didn’t feel like taking it back.

I used the Olay Eyes for the first time last night.  When they say instant results, they were not kidding.  Here is what Ulta  has to say:

“Fight dark circles, wrinkles and puffy eyes in an instant with Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Perfecting Cream. This 3-in-1 Decircler, DeWrinkler & DePuffer instantly reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Supercharged with peptides and vitamins, it renews skin¿s surface over time and reduces puffiness by massaging onto skin. Formulated with Olay’s color-correcting technology, it acts as a touch of concealer that matches all skin tones. The powerful formula hydrates to smooth and brighten the eye area. Give your eyes a boost of beauty and moisture with Ultimate Eye Cream for wrinkles, puffy eyes, and dark circles.”

One of my biggest eye issues besides under eye circles is wrinkled eyelids. I’m 57 and gravity has taken its toll on my eyelids. I had a Botox eyelift a few years ago, but it only last for three months and cost $600. I wear glasses, so that hides a lot.

I used the Olay Eyes for the first time last night. When I woke up this morning, my eyelid wrinkles were reduced.  I had to do a double take. I’ve never tried any eye cream that had instant results like this.  To say I was thrilled would be an understatement. It retails for $29.99 at Ulta. I had  coupons, so I paid $20 for a .4 ounce jar.  You use very little. I can’t wait to see the long-term results.

I give this a 10/10.

Essence The Gel Nail Polish

Ulta is my favorite store. Since I’m a rewards member, they are always sending me coupons for free stuff. Well, free with any purchase.  Today’s freebie was Matrix Total Results Color Obsessed shampoo and conditioner. They are each 1.7 ounces. Perfect for our upcoming vacation. I would imagine it’s pricey, but free works very well for me. Matrix Total Results Color Obsessed shampoo

I didn’t need anything, so I grabbed some  Essence The Gel nail polish on Jeans On! This polish is only a $1.99, and I love this color of blue. I was turned on to this brand by another beauty blogger. This is really some pretty darn good polish.  It stays on well, and is very shiny.  Can’t got wrong for under $2 bucks. If I wasn’t digging my current manicure so much, I would be wearing this now.

I also got some Ulta Make up Wedges for $1.99. These are good quality sponges that are easy to clean. I just throw mine in a lingerie bag and wash them in the washing machine.

Cover Your Gray-Fill-In Powder

I was looking for a quick gray cover up as my husband and I were headed for a festival.  I have blonde hair with a decent amount of silver.  I picked this up on a recent trip to Ulta.  I have a similar product by Joan Rivers called Great Hair Day. I had a 20% off coupon that expired today.  This product was $11.99, and I paid $9.59. I purchased light brown/blonde.

The description says this instantly fills in thinning areas, and it does. It contains Procapil which targets the main causes of alopecia: poor scalp micro-circulation, follicle ageing and follicle atrophy caused by dihydrotestosterone.

This is a brush on powder that looks like eye shadow, and includes a brush. You dab it on your gray roots. It works fairly well. It’s great for any areas that are thinning. It does make your hair feel a bit dry, and it stays on well.

The photo is taken outdoors so you can see how well it covers.

I have a funky hairline, and this helps to fill it in.  I would definitely purchase it again.

Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast

First off let me say I was super excited to try this new product.  I love their Perfect Hair Day Dry shampoo.  I picked the Full Dry Volume Blast up today at Ulta.  The salesperson had to get it from the back, as it’s not coming out until tomorrow.  I was so anxious to try it, I didn’t get the free gift that comes with it.

It’s suppose to give you instant, lasting volume and texture. All it gave me was a rat’s nest.

What a ginormous disappointment. I have naturally curly hair that I usually straighten.  As I’ve been going through menopause, my hair has really changed. My hair is very fine, and dry to begin with.  I need volume like crazy, but this product blows.  While it did add some volume, it made my hair feel like straw. I couldn’t even get my fingers through my hair. I feel like I have a bale of hay on my head.  I went outside and it basically fell and frizzed out. I’m washing it out tomorrow.

It’s $29 for 7.5 ounces.  Maybe it might work on a different type of hair, but it didn’t do a darn thing for me.
