Can this moron Betsy Devos just go the f*&k away!

I’m more qualified than this moron, and I only teach as a volunteer. Financial literacy as a matter of fact.  Our young people are going to need my classes after this effed up administration is done raping and pillaging the United States.  It honestly gets worse by the minute.

The Los Angeles wrote in an editorial today that the Senate should not confirm Betsy DeVos. She embarrassed herself by her lack of knowledge of the role of the federal government, federal policies, and federal laws. Betsy DeVos’ love of private school vouchers didn’t disqualify her for the role of U.S. Education secretary, even […]

Liar, liar pants on fire-Betsy DeVos-just one of the many dipsticks on the new cabinet in the United States.

Oh, man we are so screwed!  Pretty much every one on this new cabinet is incompetent. Please let this four years go by fast, and hopefully we will all be alive still, and have some of our retirement money left.

Betsy DeVos was asked during her Senate hearing whether her mother’s foundation had funded the anti-gay Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council.she claimed ignorance and insisted that her mother made her own decisions; besides, she insisted, she was not a member of the board of her mother’s foundation. Sinful Colors Sinful Shine with Gel Tech Nail Polish Review

Happy Wednesday! I’m all about finding good deals.  I bought this two step polish Sinful Shine Step 1 Color with Gel Tech in Prosecco from Wal-Mart recently.  The two steps consist of a color and special top coat.  Each polish sells for $2.99. I recently put this color on on a Sunday and then touched it up slightly on the following Thursday.  I really didn’t need to touch it up, as it barely chipped,  but I was going out of town for the weekend.

Here are my nails on Sunday, day one.

Same nails five days later-Thursday

As you can see, there is barely any difference. There isn’t a lot of colors available, but this color is super pretty. It’s taupe with gold specks in it. I wash my hands a lot, and generally am very hard on my nails.  I used two coats of color and one of the top coat.  It dries really quick also. This polish duo held up like a champ.  The polish is toluene, formaldehyde and DPB free.  At $2.99 per bottle you can’t go wrong.

2016 was the hottest year on record-CNN

The new administration about to take over in the United States is all about deregulation.  Most of the cabinet picks are not qualified for the positions they are about to hold.  President elect Trump has stated he wants to pull out of the Paris Climate Agreement.  Not only does this not bode well for the United States, it affects the planet as a whole.

More than half of the voting population in the United States did not vote for Trump. He’s cozy with Vladimir Putin, and U.S. intelligence has shown that Russia interfered in our election.  I can only hope this buffoon of a president elect swiftly gets impeached.

I love my country and my way of life, but I’m afraid all of that is about to change drastically. We as Americans must stand up to this fascist regime about to take over our country.  I have lived too long and worked to hard to let some orange haired idiot ruin our planet and country.

Betsy DeVos is Unfit to be Secretary of Education

Kenneth Zeichner is Professor of Teacher Education at the University of Washington. He writes here why Betsy DeVos should not be approved for Secretary of Education. Betsy DeVos is thoroughly unqualified for the job of Secretary of Education. She has never attended a public school, sent her children to public schools, taught or […]

Wow! Something new every damn day! #notmypresident

During his press conference, Trump said he has turned his businesses over to his sons. That eliminates any possibility of conflict of interest. He said. Right. His sons will receive business offers they never dreamed of. He he also acknowledged that Russia did the hacking but said it was the fault of the […]

You go Meryl!

~~January 10, 2017~~ THANK YOU, MERYL As always, many have spoken from the ‘other side’. They have derided her actions and demeaned her message. I have done the opposite. I strongly support her and thank her deeply. These are words that resonate with those who still have a functional brain. HortyRex© The Cecil B. DeMille […]

How To Deal With Fading Beauty

Woo hoo! Love this blogger!

Vivian Copeland's avatarWomen Over 50

When your looks start to fade, a part of you dies because beauty is power if you know how to use it and when it’s gone you’re diminished. It sounds petty to admit you sometimes get what you want because you’re pretty, but it’s an advantage, a big one! Who wants to give that up? Who wants to watch it happen in the mirror? So what do you do? You have a couple of choices:

Screen Shot 2016-05-20 at 4.35.02 PM-The “Fuck It” option whereby you let your looks go and you spend your time, money and energy on something else. This option allows you to eat what you want, when you want it. (Within reason. Too many carbs and you’ll end up with a slew of maladies, spending all your time in doctor’s offices and at the pharmacy filling prescriptions.) If you choose this option, you must buy your clothes at Macy’s-from the Alfred Dunner…

What to Expect When You’re Aging

OMG! This lady and I were twins separated at birth! Great age related post!

Vivian Copeland's avatarWomen Over 50

screen-shot-2016-10-12-at-10-54-54-am My lovely mother, Trudy.

I turned into my mother yesterday. It’s good because Mom was fun, neurotic and beautiful until the day she died. It’s bad because at the age of 55, I became . . . gasp . . . a youthful senior citizen. It’s been looming for awhile, this thing called old age:  worsening eyesight, wrinkles, diminishing physical ability. But yesterday, my intermittent knee pain hit with a vengeance while it was raining. Dear God, I’ve gotten to the point where I can predict the weather with my arthritic knees. I remember my mother talking about rain as she flexed stubby gnarled fingers. I would listen half-heartedly, mildly amused, a little grossed out. And now, sadly, it’s me.

There are a lot of awful, yet fairly universal, things that happen as you age. Since doctor’s don’t hand out pamphlets on what to expect, although they should – Dip…
