This letter by American Aaron Sorkin, an Oscar winning screenwriter, to his 15 year old daughter, sums up how many Americans felt about this election. Vanity Fair is a mainstream publication, no Fox News bullshit.

Oooooh my goodness…
So many people is against him..
How did he get so many voters…
Something went very wrong..!!
But too late to worry about what might have been ..or what is already done ✅
Hillary Clinton won the popular vote. Trump is a very scary person. He wants to be buddies with Putin. Yeah, a lot of people are scared, including myself.
I’m too .. actually…
I don’t trust him at all..
I’m so nervous 😩 about his reign
I read this earlier today and thought the very same thing.😔
I like the part about being politically active and this being a wake up call. Unfortunately, I think he makes the same mistakes many others on the Left make and he just throws out buzz words like racist and misogynists instead of actually looking at the facts of the matter. It’s easier to tar your opponent with slurs than educate yourself on the matter. The slurs are part of the reason Hillary lost.
Calling someone racist doesn’t constitute an argument.
“We’ve embarrassed ourselves in front of our children and the world.”
Yeah. That’s true. Hillary was also an embarrassment and it points towards a broken system that needs fixing.
“Angry young white men who think rap music and Cinco de Mayo are a threat to their way of life (or are the reason for their way of life) have been given cause to celebrate.”
Lots of females voted for him as well. Young men actually didn’t support Trump. It was more poor middle aged men who supported Trump. His numbers among minorities also rose, especially among Asian Americans, compared to 2012 Republicans.
But why let facts get in the way.
“Abject dumbness was glamorized as being “the fresh voice of an outsider” who’s going to “shake things up.” (Did anyone bother to ask how? Is he going to re-arrange the chairs in the Roosevelt Room?)”
No, because the media was too busy doing what he’s doing in this letter – slinging mud instead of actually reporting on the news. Calling people dunb because they voted for Trump isn’t going to convince them they’re wrong. It’s only going to deepen their resolve.
Immediately after writing this, I watched a video on YouTube and thought of you. I hope you’ll give this a watch because I think it concisely sums up why Trump won and how the Left made it happen.
Thanks! I’ll check it out.
Very well said! I like your blog!
Thanks so much.

Reblogged this on Scotties Toy Box and commented:
I read the letter at the link, and it moved me with both pride and tears. I agree with it, with the message, and I will add my voice and help to make the best of this as he says. We will fight. We will do what we have to. We will do what we should do. Thanks Contessa for posting this, it is a great read. Hugs
Thanks for the reblog Scottie.
Thank you for the post. It is grand. I am glad you don’t mind me reblogging your posts. Hugs
I appreciate it Scottie. The more people know, hopefully the more people will react in a good way. The recount has started here in my home state of Wisconsin. Should be interesting to see how it plays out.
Lets hope… Ron and I don’t know what would happen if the electoral college was overturned… but I sure wish do. Hugs
It would be something for the history books for sure.
