My best feature are my blue eyes. I tried wearing contacts full time a few years ago, it was just too much trouble. If you find the right shadow combination, you can really make your eyes pop. I do think bronze shadow works the best for me. Not too bad for a old lady of 56!

Ipsy June 2015 Glam Bag-Review
Hello! Welcome to summer! June’s Ipsy bag was a mixture of great and just okay. The bag itself is a black neoprene fabric. I’ll be saving this for the women’s shelter. Here’s what was in my June bag:
The Healthy Body Butter in Pure Vanilla- I’m not big on food scented products, but I know my niece will like it.
JCats Liptitude Hydrating Lip Stain in Bead?-it’s a coral color that is better suited for Aunt Ethel. Yikes!
SmashBox Photo Finish Primer-I’ve used this before and like it. It’s a nice travel size.
Tre’Stique Mini Shadow crayon in Kona Coffee-A rich dark brown, too dark for me however.
And last but not least It Cosmetics Brow Power in Universal Taupe in the mini size. OMG! I love this brown pencil. I’m always on the hunt for the next best eyebrow make up. The color is perfect and it really stays on all day without fading. It’s a two ended pencil with color on one end, and a spooley brush on the other.
I don’t pay a lot of attention to my brows because I wear glasses. But I do think this color is very flattering on me. I know I could use a good tweezing, but hey, I’m too flipping lazy.
All in all it was a decent bag. I’m keeping the primer and brow color. The rest are going to my niece. Not bad for $10!
Celebrating my 20th wedding anniversary!
What’s your email address again????
So I’m having the Monday from hell at work. I have a great job, but was having computer issues the entire day.
This involved several phone calls, and running back and forth to my co-worker’s office trying to get things figured out. I apologized several times to the technical person I was dealing with on the phone because of my “colorful” language. She laughed, but I was beyond frustrated that things were not working out.
Finally by the end of the day, the problem was solved. I started working on the payroll, when I got an email from an employee with a question. I responded to his question, then asked him to send me his timesheet.
His response? “What’s your email address?” What? My response was ” Oh, I don’t know maybe the email address you just used?” Didn’t you just send me two emails you flipping dumb ass??? It was a lovely ending to a very stressful day. I think my co-workers could hear me laughing
from the parking lot!
Stinky Teenager!
My 16 year old son just asked me if he could take a shower before he went to bed. I said he could wait until the morning.
“No Mom, I smell really bad!” God, I love that child.
This is funny because we always have to remind him to take a shower. I have caught him on numerous occasions taking fake showers. You know, peering at himself in the mirror while the water is running for twenty minutes. I think my baby boy is finally growing up.
Too old to play the drums???
I’ve decided at the ripe old age of 56 that I am going to teach myself how to play the drums. You see we just bought a drum set for our 16 year old son’s recent birthday. I played acoustic guitar a bit when I was in high school. I had hoped to be able to play an electric guitar by the time I was 50, but life happened. Now my son, who has taught himself how to play guitar, is teaching himself how to play the drums. I would learn how to play guitar now, but then I would have to have short fingernails, and that ain’t happening.
Maybe if I watch enough YouTube videos, I’ll be able to play by the time I’m 60! It worked for me
for learning how to contour my face. Hmmm, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Note to self-don’t use old Chapstick!
I dropped a piece of jewelry on the floor, and when I bent down to pick it up, I found some Chapstick under my dresser. God knows how long it was under there for. Like the doofus that I am, I used some. Bad idea. Now I have some funky bumps on my lips. That’s almost like picking up food off the floor and eating it. You know the old 5 second rule. One would think by middle age you wouldn’t do stupid crap like that. I guess not.
My Big Fat German Closet
I started a new job this week! Yeah! I’m so happy to be away from my former job. It’s so refreshing to come to work and everyone is nice and it’s a positive atmosphere. As I was perusing my closet for my first day outfit, I had an epiphany. OMG! Do I have a ton of clothes! I can wear jeans to work, which is great, but I have way too much stuff.
Five years ago I lost almost 60 pounds, so I went out and bought a whole new wardrobe. That was also the same time I discovered shopping at Goodwill. I can’t believe how many flipping clothes I have. The great thing about Goodwill is that I have a banging wardrobe for very little money. I’m not one to wear the latest fashions, but I really don’t need to buy another piece of clothing for, like ever.
I have every color of clothing imaginable, ok, not chartreuse, but every other color. I think I counted twenty pairs of jeans! I use to go to Goodwill every weekend, now I hardly ever go, except to donate stuff. I like to look nice, and my style is pretty casual. Now I’m all about accessories and nail polish.
Looking for a different job is so exhausting. I actually found my new job on Craigslist. It is truly amazing how much a miserable job takes out of you. I look forward to picking out my next day outfit for work instead of spending hours looking for a new job.
NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm-Review
Let me start off by saying I’m a huge tinted lip balm fan. I usually wear lipstick, but sometimes I just want the ease of swiping on some lip balm. I found this NYC Glossy Lip Balm in Chocolate Apple at my local Dollar Tree. I loved it. I went back a few days later and bought all they had, which was twenty tubes. I do believe I have enough tinted lip balm to last me for the next 10 years. I’m sure I’ll be giving some away.
It is really creamy and I love the color. Here is my high school graduation photo taken in 1976, and a current photo. As you get older your lips naturally get thinner. I’ve been wearing something, be it lip gloss, balm, lipstick or whatever on my lips for 44 years. My mom was an Avon lady, so I started wearing lip gloss when I was 12. The point I’m trying to make is, your lips don’t have to get thinner as you age. I have some sort of moisturizer on my lips 24/7, and as a result of that, my lips have remained the same. Oh the NYC is usually $3, and I paid $1 each. Yeah!
While I’m glad my lips have stayed the same size, I can’t say the same for my nose. Must be from having allergies and always having a runny nose. Oh well, I guess there could be worse things. At least I have all of my original teeth! Ha!
And yes, I was trying to rock the Farrah Fawcett hairstyle that most girls had in 1976, that was as close as I could get with my naturally curly hair. Fresh from the salon for that one, never looked like that again.

Almay Wake Up Concealer-Review
I’m always on the hunt for the perfect under eye concealer. I think I may have found it. I was shopping at my favorite store Ulta, and had a $4 off coupon for any Almay product. I bought the light shade; it matches perfectly with my pasty white skin. I don’t have issues with puffiness, just dark circles. A little goes a long way, and it has a built in brush that I like. I think I paid a few a dollars for it. It’s very natural looking and lightens up my under eye just right. It’s very creamy and easy to blend. I had a Ulta store coupon for $3.50 that I used also.
